Vintage neon signs are being restored all over the country. They are also being torn down and destroyed, their owners unaware of their value and importance to our history. This website will showcase these beautiful signs and increase awareness on anything related to these vintage neon treasures.
These iconic vintage neon signs are part of mid-century American history, marking the time when Americans first took to the roads with their cars to vacation and explore, before the intrusion of interstate highways.
We had fast cars, but a slower pace of life.
After a long day’s drive on the byways heading west, there would be city lights illuminating the dark sky up ahead. Then it would appear. An outdoor museum of multi-color neon, beckoning visitors with their unique signatures, all along the road on both sides. By day, blue sparkling swimming pools and lush, welcoming courtyards lured visitors to motels and restaurants, where steak was served for less than $2.00.
Is there a list of these unique caches. I grew up seeing them but need help if there is a cache.
